What does depression look like? What does depression feel like? When you’re stuck in the middle of it, is there anything that actually helps?
In this collection of short, original comics, 14 young Australians chronicle their close encounters and experiences with depression, capturing snapshots of what depression is like in order to illuminate what is often unexpressed and help fellow sufferers know they are not alone.
Kinds of Blue was initially published in 2011 through crowdfunding, raising 100 per cent of its goal within the first three days and going on to reach 142 per cent by the conclusion of the campaign. An initial print run of 600 copies has since sold out, and we have reprinted using a digital printer. Now that all creators have been paid for their contribution, the profits from sale go towards The Black Dog Institute in order to aid depression research.
